Utvonalterv.hu is the route wizard built specifically for Hungary. It blends seamless daily navigation for every mode of transport with strong B2B muscle. It is a secret weapon for logistics teams, providing efficient multi-stop delivery planning and dispatch optimisation so rounds are as fast and as cost-effective as possible.

Challenge

Utvonalterv.hu was Hungary’s first route planner, building a strong user base even before the global giants entered the market. After years of steady use, utvonalterv.hu was ready for a redesign to meet modern expectations. This is a classic challenge in software development: modernising a legacy application without alienating a loyal user base while seamlessly integrating third-party APIs for maps, invoicing, and payments.

Refresh

We started with a visual update - refreshing colors, fonts, and icons to give the app a more modern feel. This was a quick win that made the experience look and feel up to date without disrupting anyone’s workflow.

Adapt

We made the layout suitable for mobile devices as a functional necessity. The core workflows remained unchanged, but the design now reflows gracefully on smaller screens - directly supporting a key project goal.

Rework

We fundamentally rethought the layout and combined workflow steps. Along the way, we introduced new features and created a dedicated space for pro users to manage advanced logistics challenges.

We rebuilt the app with React, TypeScript, and shadcn/ui on the frontend, and Nest.js with Prisma on the backend. We also connected the system to third-party APIs for maps, invoicing, and payments.

Our Scrum team of four developers - led by a Scrum Master and working closely with the client as a Product Owner - followed agile routines and kept communication open throughout the project.

Refine

We established consistent rules for colours, typography, spacing, buttons, and other UI components and templates. This ensures the design stays coherent and scalable, making future design and development work faster and more efficient.
